Who Are We

Bet Tikvah Synagogue was founded seemingly years ago, when a small group of committed families began holding services in the chapel at Barnardo’s headquarters in Tanners Lane. In 1981, we were lucky enough to find and purchase our own building; what had once been Victorian primary schools at the corner of Perrymans Farm Road and Chase Lane. After years of neglect, the building was in poor condition, but it was ideally located, with plenty of parking space. Over the next few years, the building was lovingly transformed into a beautiful place of worship, mostly by the enthusiastic efforts of our own members.
Over the last 4 years we have been refurbishing the original work. We now have a completely new Prayer Hall, the focal point being our beautiful, purpose built Ark. Photo’s can been found in the photo gallery.
Last year, we refurbished the kitchen area and now boast a modern kitchen complete with range cooker. The kitchen is milk only and along with our functions Hall, is ideal if you are thinking of hiring a Hall with kitchen facilities.
